Pairup
Nokia Research Center (NRC) collaborates with Embedded Interaction Lab (EIlab) to create a platform for research collaboration between two organizations. The aim of this collaboration is to initiate open source collaborative projects under the umbrella of open research collaboration. As a part of this collaboration, a wearable band named Pairup was conceptualized and taken further for prototyping. Pairup is an interactive accessory in the form of wearable band used for sharing professional contacts in a formal environment such a official meetings, conferences, events etc. It shares professional information when two users shake their hands with each other. Pairup is embedded with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology that is used to share data. It is connected to mobile phone via bluetooth, which provides an interface to confirm contact sharing.
